WHO ARE WE? |
|
Rusty and Frank (consulting since 2000) Owner of the NEW HAUNTED
HOUSE IN HANOVER! Running haunted houses for longer than she
probably cares to count, Rusty has 1000 ideas and enough skill at crafts
to pull off all of them. She's offered up her ideas, her talents and
her house for assembling our Halloween treats. Plus she cooks like
you wouldn't believe. |
 |
|
 |
Jeff (consulting since 2003) Jeff put on his first Haunted House back in
the 1970s, and he's got some tremendous ideas of how best to terrify kids.
While we can't use all of them, he's helped us a lot with thoughts on
timings, lightings and effects. We think of him as a sort of "Brooks
Street: West Coast Annex". When we get fabulously wealthy,
we'll all fly him out for Halloween someday... |
|
Lesley (consulting since 2000) Our behind the scenes guru. The
creative genius, Lesley is always thinking about what she can do to make
the house better. The queen of the graveyard, Lesley put days into
building the gravestones. She also handles the fog work, the fire in
the windows, lighting, the ghost screen, painting, costumes,
pumpkin-carving and the list goes on. Since 2003, she's been making
personal appearances at Brooks, and can usually be found lurking behind
the scenes. |
 |
 |
Kali (since 2000) Kali handles the younger set, and is the artist of the
group. Her creativity knows no bounds. From her gypsy days
(complete with fortunes), Kali graduated to her wicked witch world, where
she handed bug infested potions out to children. Recently Kali could
be found handing out balloons, as well. She too is an expert pumpkin
carver With her photoshop expertise, she's constantly helping out
with flyers, handouts and creative ideas. |
|
Steve (since 2005) Ok, so here we go. Steve is
the newcomer of the bunch, and to be honest, we weren't quite sure how he was
going to work out. He seemed quiet and reserved, as lawyers will do, so
we were curious. Throwing him in the deep end, we asked him to be the
main pirate (Barbossa)
last year, and Steve was easily the hit of the show. EASILY. A
combination of scary and nice, Steve had youngsters coming up to him smiling
and teenagers a little nervous. Hollywood definitely lost out when he
became a lawyer. |

|

|
Kelly (since 1999) Kelly, the beautiful owner of our
former haunted house.
She allowed us to have our house in Medford from 2000-07, and was always very
helpful in both providing the candy as well as handing it out to the more
leery patrons. She's also one of the more fabulous pirates you'll
ever see. And she's carved her share of pumpkins.. |
|
Kim (since 1997) Ahhhh, yes. Kim. Where would we be without
her? She's always handling the audio/visual part of things, and does
a lot of our artwork. With her creative ideas, and last minute
problem solving, she's a huge part of what makes our haunted house work.
And we can't even BEGIN to describe her jack-o-lantern expertise.
After a slow start, she is hands down the Queen Carver of brookwood road. |
 |
|
|
Keith (since 1996) Some guy we found. |
|
Lisa (2000-2005) Lisa is a co-habitant of the Brooks home. Since
2000, she's been helping out with carving pumpkins, creative ideas, the
fire in the windows, and handing out candy and treats. Always more than
willing to chat with the folks visiting, she's a whiz at reassuring the
younger set when they get a little scared about approaching the house. |
|
| |
Nick (2004) Nick is a master at changing his
appearance, and was extremely convincing as Jason. With excellent ideas and
a near perfect attitude, Nick sold not only the kids, but almost all of
the adults, in his role as a bloodthirsty killer. In reality, he's a
great guy with a lot of enthusiasm, and we love having him on the crew. |
|
Laura (since 1997) Since almost the very beginning, Laura has been an
extremely vital part of the hauntings. Starting with the dry ice
fiasco back in Weymouth, Laura has willingly subjected herself to the most
ridiculous elements of Halloween without complaint. And she always
brings a beer 2 seconds before you need one. We love Laura. |
|
|
 |
Dick and Judy (since 1997) Creative consultants extraordinaire, these
folks have some of the best ideas going. Judy has come up repeatedly
with Martha Stewart moments that turn a normal house into a haunted one
(but not TOO haunted). She's also handed out more candy with more
smiles than anyone we know. Dick, from the very first, has done tons
to make Halloweens memorable. He's picked up dry ice and stored it
in his freezer for days, he's built coffins, dressed skeletons, helped
with 20 foot screens, lighting, sounds, and handed out candy. Last
year's project? The Treasure Chest. |
|
Allison (consulting since 2002) Allison has the perfect brain for
Halloween planning. Over the years she's contributed thousands of
ideas, including tips for the graveyard, costumes, lighting, audio, surprises,
and one of our best effects:
Mrs. Bates. Always on the
lookout for new ideas, you never know what her warped mind will come up
with next. We think it comes from her mother. |
 |
|
 |
Shawn and Nicole (2003) Shawn and Nicole combined to scare and feed kids
extremely effectively. While Nicole handed out candy in her cute
little costume, Shawn frightened parents and children alike in his Scream
outfit. All part of the fun. |
|
Michelle and Dan (2002) Michelle has come by a number of times, always
offering a non-scary alternative to kids who were a little afraid of the
house. She'd deliver candy all the way across the street if she had
to. Recently she brought Dan with her, who helped out by doing just
about everything. We love those kind of people. |
|
|
 |
Kimmy Jo (since 2001) KJ has been helping us out off and on for years
now, and we always look forward to having her. She's ALWAYS helping
out however she can, whether it's setting up, dressing up, handing out
candy, or putting stuff away. All this and 400 years of school, too! |
|
Mike (consulting since 2002) A shout-out to Mike, our Consulting Canuck.
It was Mike's idea first to go high-tech in our Halloween endeavors.
He found some great contraptions, introducing sounds, motion detection,
iPods, AC relays and audio/visual synching. His expertise and
suggestions have resulted in talking gravestones, interactive lighting,
fire effects and contributed to
Mrs. Bates. |
 |
| |
Sue (since 2003) Our Michaels connection, Sue has helped us select some
of the best crafts for our house. She's also come over and helped
out with a ton of different things on Halloween night. She's got
some great ideas, smiles almost constantly, and helps clean up. How
can you beat that? |
|
Patty (2004) Patty came over and was constantly looking
for ways to help out. Whether it was sorting out balloons, handing
out candy, keeping people company, helping to clean up, making sure that
the people on the roof got food, chatting with neighbors, or anything
else. She was wonderful. |
