FOR THE PARENTS

This page is dedicated to the parents of the kids who come by for Halloween.  Hopefully this will address any of the questions or concerns that you may have.  If there are any issues that aren't covered here, feel free to email us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks!

The Brooks Team

PICTURE TAKING:

Feel free to bring your children by earlier in the afternoon on the 31st.  We'll have some of the characters available for posing.

We thought of offering a picture taking service on Halloween, with the photos available online, but weren't sure how popular that would be.  Feel free to let us know!

GOALS:
  • Our primary goal is NOT to make your children cry!  We're honestly just grown up children who really enjoy Halloween, but can't figure out a way to still trick-or-treat.
  • We want EVERYONE to have fun.  We'd like for everyone to have a great time:  younger kids, older kids, and the parents too.  While we know you can't please everyone, we honestly try.
  • We try to do something new each year.  Who wants to see the same old boring, run-of-the-mill, battle-of-the-psychotic-movie-killers-on-the-roof thing year in, year out?  Not us - that's why we try to keep it fresh.  Check out what's new this year.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
  • KIDDIE TIMES:  From afternoon until 6pm, we try to keep things light for the younger ones.
  • SCARY TIMES:  After 6pm, the mood darkens a little, and things are quite a bit scarier.
  • LIGHTS:  We have a lot of lighting effects.  Lightning, blacklights, fire, lit jack-o-lanterns, spotlights, strobes, spooky eyes are just the beginning.  In general, not very scary.
  • SOUNDS:  Thunder, spooky music, screams, movie tracks.  These may be loud at times, and occasionally scary.
  • CHARACTERS:  Our themes are based exclusively on movies, and you can expect some scary characters including:  Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Scream, Pirates, Darth Vader, Norman Bates and others.  We TRY to not be scary, but beware.
  • DRAMATICS:  We sometimes stage battles on the roof, which might be intimidating to the younger set.
  • BALLOONS:  We hand out balloons to as many trick-or-treaters as possible.
  • TREASURE MAPS:  Be on the lookout for our pirates handing out treasure maps in the area.  Or bring your own!
  • TREASURE:  But you have to find it first.
  • CANDY:  Of course!
